I love how God keeps putting us where we need to be, in His timing. We are ahead of our original itinerary due to being driven onward by bugs and weather. There is enough time in our schedule now to visit with family and hit Florida and Louisiana during this last leg of the trip. (It’s true, we only have one month and eight states left.) The majority of our extended family is in the southeast, so we have been enjoying several rest days, catching up on sleep and playing with cousins.
At Jodi’s brother’s house we got to meet babička (or grandmother) for the first time. Jana, our sister-in-law, is from the Czech Republic, and her mother and father are here on a three month visit helping Kent and Jana with our new nephew, Mason. Babička is an amazing woman who loves deeply. We were welcomed with open arms and kisses. It is immediately apparent that in the Czech culture family is paramount, and we are family. Our kids instantly became babička’s grandchildren as she loved them and played with them. Her smile was infectious as well, and we continually smiled as the language barrier did not inhibit the heart of our conversation. I want to be more like babička, covering those I love with affection, taking the time to make sure my family knows how much I love them and how much I enjoy the precious moments we have together.

Glad you’re getting time with family. Can’t wait to hear all about the trip when you get home!
