We spent the whole day at the beach snorkeling. We tried two separate beaches. The first one had better scenery of fish and coral, but it was sketchy getting in and out of the water with all the rocks. Hosanna did not like it too much because there were tons of sea urchins that you had to dodge as the surf pushed you around. She was concerned she may land on one. I loved it because there were small mora eels that were brown with white spots.
We wound up at Poipu Beach and snorkeled and body surfed until we were water logged. For a late day snack we went to Poka Dogs! Poka Dogs has incredible island hot dogs and there is a line wrapped out the door and into a parking lot to get one. We were told they were worth it, so we waiting for them and were not disappointed. It was an amazing experience and I would love to learn how to recreate the way they make their dogs. First all of their sauces are natural island blends. You get to pick between a veggie or large polish sausage. Then you pick if you want it mild/Jalapeño/hot/lava. After that you choose all your island relish sauces and there were a bunch to choose from. The staff also help you not choose a combo that may not taste great. Once that is done you can see there assembly line that is pretty cool. They have the buns on a skewer on the griddle. What this does is makes the inside of the bun crisp and crunchy and the perfect size of the polish sausage dog. They take the bun off the skewer and stuff a hot dog in it. Then they pump all your sauces into the bun which is in a tight wrapper. All of this takes seconds and delivers a delicious morsel of yummy goodness you get to take to the beach to consume. We both got a polish sausage Hosanna got mild with ketchup and a pineapple relish I asked which was the most spicy they said hot so I got lava with mango relish and Hawaiian mustard. It was hot and so good!
