We came to Ferriday, LA looking for a true Louisiana experience and found exactly what we wanted and needed. Lakeview Lodge is a peaceful fishing lodge on Concordia Lake owned by a kind, welcoming family. Arriving at the lodge you enter a completely different world. One that is both picturesque and tranquil. Paul, his wife Angel, and Cowboy (one of the staff) made us feel like we were part of the family as we took over the property with our games and laughter. They played just as hard as we did, so fun was had by all. While with them, I got to experience my first taste of cajun cooking too – one of the tastiest dishes I have ever eaten. And we were able to introduce them to kayaking which they got a big kick out of.
We were looking to do two things while in Louisiana, one was to paddle through a cypress grove and the other was to take the kids fishing. It was an answer to prayer as we got to do both right outside the door of the lodge. It was Sydney and Elijah’s first time fishing and both were all smiles as they caught a fish. Once we got comfortable, we added a little more adventure by kayaking and jumping off the pier. One thing we loved so much about this place was that the kids got to just be kids the whole time they were there. We were not having to keep them quiet and still constantly, like we have had to do in many places where kids are welcome, but their energy and noise are not. As we were leaving the kids all asked, โWhen can we come back?โ A great big thank you to Paul, Angel, and Cowboy for making Louisiana a place we all want to visit again!

I’m so glad you liked the state that I was born and reared in and would never want to leave. I’m especially glad that y’all got to meet Paul, Angel, Landon & Alise as they are a part of me, as well. Paul is my nephew and one of the most talented people I know and the family is one of the most hard-working that I know. I love them dearly and am glad you got to know them and that particular part of our beautiful state. God bless you on your journey. What a wonderful endeavor!! I’ll be praying for y’all.
Paul and his family are some of the best people you will ever meet. In addition to the wonderful people they are, Paul knows how to catch the big ones. Trust me I know.
There is no better place to “pass a good time” than with a Cajun family deep in the beauty of Louisiana. Paul & Angel are fantastic People and know how to have lots of family fun. I am so excited for them and their new campground. I am proud to be a part of their family. Love you guys!!
