Georgia (Part 2) – Horsin’ Around

Certified Funhogs

Have you ever met someone and immediately you knew that the person was a kindred spirit? Imagine the odds of meeting a whole family and to top that they are even related to you! It happened to us in Albany, Georgia. We went to Albany to interview Stephen Kendrick of Sherwood Pictures, a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church. I knew that I had a cousin in Albany, so I called her and she invited us to stay with her family. I also found out that she and her family are members at Sherwood. When we arrived, Sheri saddled two of her horses so we could enjoy a first time experience for the kids. Our girls fell in love and spent the rest of our time there either riding, petting, or dreaming of riding the horses.
The next day, after church, my Aunt Cindy, Uncle Doug, Grandpa Jack and Grandma Mary came up for lunch. It was great touching base with them again. Grandpa is one of my “funhog” encouragers, as he got me interested in flying at a young age. We also took the boats down for Sheri’s boys to play in the pond, and Sheri saddled the horses again for us to ride one more time. At the end of the day, Sammy, Sheri’s husband, got out his big toys. Elijah got to drive the backhoe, and we had kids and adults alike rappelling off the 60 ft man lift. We brought it all to an end after pulling the kayaks behind the 4-wheeler, a trick we learned from our friends the O’Keefes. As their boys were going to bed, Ty (Age 6), called me over and asked me, “Uncle Brian, how can I pray for you tonight?” The purity and tenderness of his heart touched me, so as I cried we prayed together. Even after the kids went to bed, Sammy & Sheri and Jodi and I stayed up late talking and sharing our passion for our families and for seeing other families connect more, as the hearts of the fathers turn toward their children.

Our family was definitely blessed to have these funhogs in our home. Their sincere, humbled, obedient hearts and the love of Jesus shining through with such clarity was such an impact on each of us. I am so thankful that God allowed the opportunity for us to get to spend this time with family and watch Him work in ways that only He can!…
Brian & Jodi and all the little Tutens are welcome back here ANYTIME!!!

We will be praying for you daily!
